Colony’s hosted VPN service obviates the need for the client to purchase, install and manage VPN servers and endpoints for their locations. In addition, a high-level user interface simplifies the administration of assigning access rights to sites by digital identities hosted by the client or by Colony.
The VPN service can be used to:
- Connect disparate client sites using a virtual network (site to site VPN)
- Allow service providers to remote into sites to tend to their on site devices, and provide an audit point for customers at the same time
- Allow employees to remotely connect to certain sites
Sites are connected to each other and our data center using industry standard IPSEC technology. Employees and Service Providers connect to sites (via our data center) using client-less SSL-VPN technology, where sessions are initiated by navigating to our SSL-VPN portal: https://sslvpn.colonynetworks.com . The Hosted VPN service is browser and device operating system agnostic.
